Fall Gardening Tip #1

We know it's over 90 degrees today, but fall gardening, planting of mums and yard clean up is around the corner and upon stumbling across a few articles, I thought it would make a good post.  RePlayground had a great article last September about using shredded newspaper instead of mulch.  It keeps moisture in, keeps weeds at bay and helps eradicate weeds by putting a few layers of intact paper down as a barrier.  Most newspapers use soy ink now, so it's environmentally friendly.

Found this great link from DinnerGarden.org and Dave's Garden. Newspaper ink is soy based, so no worries there. Easy, FAMILY activity for starting your garden.
