What:  Sustainable Mullica Meeting & Green Drinks

Where:  Polk's Cabin, 1701 Fifth Avenue, Devonshire in Mullica Township

Why: To Celebrate Mullica Township's Sustainable Jersey Certification and Discuss Sustainable Mullica's Projects & Concerns

If the weather cooperates we'll be outside and have a bonfire

What we will be discussing:

New Focus for Sustainable Mullica:

•    Education for Sustainability Programs – Bringing the Sustainable Me! Program to Mullica Township Middle School

• Food Production – School Garden – Mullica Township Committee, Sustainable Mullica, AtlantiCare’s Healthy Schools, Healthy Children and Mullica Township School will join together to create a school garden

•  Waste Reduction – Continue Gayle Brill’s action and focus on recycling in our schools

• Adopt a Backyard Composting Program

• Adopt a Grass – Cut It and Leave It Program

•   Other Innovative Project – Work on creating a sustainable living demonstration site

Sustainable Mullica, Monday, June 27-7:00 PM-NOTE LOCATION CHANGE

Our next meeting is Monday, June 27th @ 7pm. The Environmental Commission has no business so I'm moving the meeting to our garage (1701 Fifth Avenue). I think the more relaxed setting works for the summer. Feel free to bring a snack to share. We'll supply the beverages. Sustainable Mullica meeting date changed to Monday, May 23rd

Memorial Day falls on the last Monday in May. Therefore, we will hold our Sustainable Mullica Meeting on Monday, May 23rd @ 7:00 P.M. @ Mullica Township Town Hall. We will focus on our upcoming Mullica Township Community Green Day. This event is an opportunity to bring all Mullicans together to strengthen our sense of community and have a little fun! Please come out and see how you can help, get involved, and make a difference. You are needed!

No meeting for April, Neighborhood Clean Up in its place

We will NOT hold our April Sustainable Mullica meeting on the last Monday of this month.  In lieu of our monthly meeting, Sustainable Mullica is asking all to organize a Neighborhood Clean Up in honor of Earth Day.  Please see the above tabbed document and feel free to use it to help with your event.  Post your pictures and comments on our facebook page or send them to me to be viewed on our blogspot.

Sustainable Mullica Meeting tonight-5/24 at 7:00 PM

  Sustainable Mullica will be having a meeting tonight, Monday, 5/24 at 7:00 PM followed by the Environmental Commission meeting at 7:30 PM at Town Hall. 

Meeting, Monday, April 26th-7:00 PM

The Sustainable Mullica meeting will be held Monday, April 26th at 7:00 PM (please note time change due to PPA presentation) at Town Hall prior to the Environmental Commission hosting a presentation given by the Pinelands Preservation Alliance.

The Pinelands Preservation Alliance (PPA) is pleased to offer a 90-minute presentation on sustainable community design to Pinelands municipalities.

The purpose of the program is to provide Pinelands municipal officials, board members and decision makers with a comprehensive overview of sound community design techniques that can be implemented in the Pinelands.

The presentation will cover topics such as: mixed-use centers and walkable/bikeable neighborhoods; energy conservation measures and alternative energy solutions; green building; water quality and conservation; stormwater management; protecting open space and natural resources; historic preservation;transit oriented development,and the Sustainable Jersey program.
